Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling

The Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling gathers 16 companies on the Swedish gambling market. All members have (at least) one license issued by one of the European Union’s member states' gaming authorities.

BOS promotes a healthy gambling market in Sweden, where all gambling companies are given the same rights and obligations. In the years leading up to 2018, this work is mainly channelled in the government-appointed Gambling Licence Inquiry, and the political process that follows. The Government's ambition is that this will lead to the cessation of the Swedish gambling monopoly in 2018, in favour of a licensing system. BOS supports this development.

The best thing about a real level playing field is that it does not in any way conflict with what Sweden wants to achieve with a new gambling regulations, namely, a healthy and safe gambling market that minimizes adverse effects, that gambling takes place within the licensing system and not, as today, mainly outside of it, that the state gets its share of the profit and that it is permissible for gambling companies to create jobs in Sweden. To mention but a few of the benefits that a licence system with equal treatment entail.
